First, I just wanted to say that I hope you all had wonderful Mother's and Father's Day celebrations this year! I did just want to take a moment to post a few collages of some of our wonderful clients that participated in our 2015 Platinum Imagery Portrait Studio's Mother's and Father's Day Mini Sessions. I'm excited to say that we had a successful event and were able to donate everyone's $100 Session Fee to the Danialle Karmanos Work It Out Organization!  This will go a long way to supporting youth exercise programs in Metro Detroit!

Being a Metro Detroit Portrait Photographer, the cooler weather was the perfect excuse to hunker down in our Birmingham MI studio and photograph some of my handsome male friends who were still sporting Movember Beards.  It also gave us the opportunity to support an incredible local children's charity The Bottomless Toy Chest.  

So...in exchange for getting their scruffy mugs photographed, each subject provided a new, unwrapped toy to be donated.  If you're unfamiliar with this amazing organization, The Bottomless Toy Chest makes routine deliveries to pediatric cancer patients at hospitals in Michigan - 52 weeks a year!  

I hope you'll enjoy these images and, if you're so inclined, please feel free to send some extra love to The Bottomless Toy Chest this holiday season so that they can bring a little sunshine into the lives of children!

As many of you know, over the last year the focus of our portrait studio has shifted to documenting women in all the various stages of their lives.  I knew that part of the reason creating beautiful images of women resonated with me was because I personally was always avoiding having my picture taken. 

But as I met with more and more clients, I found that it wasn’t just me that struggled with feeling too fat or too old and avoided being included in family photographs.  What I’ve come to learn through working with many gorgeous, creative and loving women of all shapes and sizes is that we all ARE good enough to be in photos and that we SHOULD be in those photos for ourselves and for our children and families.  What better gift than photos that they can cherish for the rest of their lives? Whether it be images of yourself, images with your children or images with your parent or, as in the case above, with a beloved sister.  These images will ultimately be one of the most important possessions they (and you) can own.

I'm so excited to finally be able to show a few of the images from a recent Mother/Daughter Portrait session at our Birmingham, MI studio.  Having Julie and her three beautiful daughters come to our studio for a styled session was so much fun.

Julie's session included full hair and make-up by the talented Sarah Lindley.  Julie brought in some of her own fun wardrobe, plus we were able to supplement that with some select pieces from our Platinum Imagery wardrobe to create stylized, couture images that Julie will cherish for years to come.  Our Couture Portraits Sessions are perfect for those women who appreciate beautiful, stylized heirloom images.
